Lean in Daily Life: Your respect for others will be your ticket to success.

Your respect for others will be your ticket to success.

I usually don’t take fortune cookies seriously, but this one is different. It was very fitting that I was having lunch with “lean” colleagues when I read it as respect for people and continuous improvement are the two pillars of the Toyota Way:

The Toyota Way 2001

The Toyota Way 2001

And you can frame it all around respect for people. Continuous improvement is an explicit approach of respecting others.

So needless to say I am embracing this fortune!

  1. Katrina- It is amazing how sometimes a fortune cookie hits so close to home. The people to people connections are key in developing and implementing the ideas to take our organizations to next level.
