I usually don’t take fortune cookies seriously, but this one is different. It was very fitting that I was having lunch with “lean” colleagues when I read it as respect for people and continuous improvement are the two pillars of the Toyota Way:
The Toyota Way 2001
And you can frame it all around respect for people. Continuous improvement is an explicit approach of respecting others.
So needless to say I am embracing this fortune!

Katrina- It is amazing how sometimes a fortune cookie hits so close to home. The people to people connections are key in developing and implementing the ideas to take our organizations to next level.
