Why and How: What is the relationship with What is done and What is achieved?

I’m a big fan of seeking to understand.

  • To the point where I have a paradigm of caring far more about the intention behind actions than the actions themselves.
  • Though I hope that the actions are supportive of the intention.
  • But when they are not, what is important is to understand why the action did not achieve the intent.
  • And to use that new understanding to adjust the actions to achieve the intent.

To get to the point:

Purpose matters

  • And what you do

  • And how you do it

  • Impact what you achieve.

This is why I:

  • Have to understand the purpose before doing anything
  • Ask questions and think about
    • why,
    • how,
    • the relationship between why and how,
    • and the relationship between why, how, and what.
